HEALING THE FUTURE

Our families and other close relationships are aspects of the environment or field in which we were shaped, but those families and relationships are contained in and shaped by the larger field of our society. This social environment is increasingly toxic, and much of the wounding we experience is at least as much societal and cultural as it is familial and interpersonal. This book is the result of a several-year journey in which the authors were nearly overwhelmed and paralyzed by the toxic and insane aspects of our society. As they noticed what helped them, they began giving retreats on "healing the future" to thousands of people in various countries. The retreatants revealed that they, too, had felt overwhelmed and paralyzed by our social environment. The material and processes in this book are what helped them recover. We are caught between two worlds. The world we've known, based upon competition, rewards and punishments, individualism and domination, is crumbling around us. A new world is emerging, based on entirely different economic, political, and spiritual assumptions. How can we live through this time of transition, in touch with our light and our power to create the world of our dreams for ourselves and our children? Based upon research in psychology, biology, spirituality, current affairs, and a wide variety of other fields, this book also includes simple healing processes to help face the future with confidence and hope, in touch with the inner wisdom that has already guided us through 13.7 billion years of evolution.
