Breaking Open The Scriptures

The Called to Be a Catechist Series provides information, guidance, and inspiration to catechists whether seasoned or rookies that will help them be more capable and confident in their responsibility of developing the faith in new generations.

Breaking open Scripture, the word of God, is the foundation of every catechist s vocation. This helpful booklet highlights many of the ways catechists, both new and seasoned, can deepen their own experience of studying and appreciating the Scriptures that define us, as well as providing challenging and engaging ways of sharing this new-found appreciation with students of all ages. Topics include defining the Word of God, the role of Mary, studying and interpreting Scripture, interreligious dialogue, and applying Scripture to everyday life.
